Virginia Farwell
Reflexology is the systematic manual stimulation of reflexes located on the feet, hands, and outer ears. Once stimulated, a physiological change occurs, allowing the body to move into balance. The purpose of the treatment is to bring the body into balance by affecting all parts of the body, such as the organs, glands, and circulatory system. A Reflexology session is very relaxing, allowing everyday tension and stress to leave the body. Today, almost 70% of all illnesses are stress related, thus reduction of stress in our bodies allows us to function on a higher level and begin a journey to recovery and wellness. Virginia has been practicing reflexology since 2001. Her studies began in Colorado in 1992 and she completed her training in Tucson. She then went on to obtain her National certification through the American Reflexology Certification Board in 2001. She is a current Director for the Arizona Reflexology Association and a past Director for the Reflexology Association of America (RAA) where she chaired the 2006 and 2008 RAA Conference. Virginia is also a member of the International Council of Reflexolgists. For the past ten years she has volunteered for La Fronteria, Inc. as part of their Wellness Recovery Team. Virginia is also a Personal Trainer and a Volunteer Naturalist at Sabino Canyon. In her free time she likes to hike and walk her dogs as well as compete in local races, especially triathlons.
